Hennig Research Group

We are happy to welcome you to our website! In the following, we would like to provide you a brief overview of who we are and what we are doing. We are an international workgroup and we speak English in the lab and during our group meetings. Our research is multidisciplinary. We use methods from organic and supramolecular chemistry, optical spectroscopy, and we work with nano- and biomaterials. The focus is on the design and synthesis of functional supramolecular systems that work in complex environments, such as biofluids, membranes, cells, and on (nano)surfaces, and the ultimate goal is to develop applications for bioanalysis, materials science, drug discovery and molecular imaging.

Top content

Sensors

We detect biomolecules and other analytes with our supramolecular sensor systems.

Biomembranes

We study supramolecules in the biomembrane to monitor and control membrane transport processes.

Nanomaterials

We equip nanomaterials and surfaces with new functions using supramolecular chemistry.
